With jumps, running and snatches!?

I did this one early and it was cold outside. My breathing was impaired a bit due to the dry air and my body was not fully awake. This just made the suck more. The broad jumps were the worst. My back was tight as hell from CFT yesterday. I got better as the rounds went on as my body became warmer.

Another great way to rest a tight back, snatches and more jumps. However, this workout was somewhat enjoyable. Although my snatch is not the greatest, being able to do 21 with this weight, with no real trouble is comforting. I powered them all from the floor. I used about a 4 inch knee bend on my catch. I used to be afraid of snatching this much weight, now I look forward to it. The pull ups and push ups were easy and the box jumps sucked. Especially when I had Maiko chirping at me every time I didn't fully open my hips at the top of the box. I needed it though, she forced me to overextend so there was no mistake that my hips were open.

ReplyDeleteHope I didn't actually make you overextend. Just extend fully ;) and if BJs come up during the Sectionals you'll have a nice mental image of me chirping at ya to open your hips.
So I did your AMRAP 15 workout this morning!!!
ReplyDeleteI scaled the weight from 95# to 75# and used a box that was about the same as yours (can't remember if the grey was one slightly taller than the green one but I used the grey one!). I got only 5 full rounds + 3 Snatches, 3 pull-ups, & 6 push-ups. The BJs SUCKED. Karma for all the chirping perhaps? And my snatches were more like snatch & presses :( But it was fun. yay!
Yes I have to agree it was fun, but I was using 135# ! Looks like you need to do it again and scale it up more! Sike. But, honestly, I thought the bj's were the worst, especially when you made me fully extend!
ReplyDeleteMan, I would LUV to have used 95# but I'm trying to give my back some TLC. I do think I should have gone with 80# but I had never power snatched anything beyond 65# if I remember correctly. I don't think I'm strong enough to tackle 95# unforunately :(

I hope you opened those hips fully!
